Great day in Cambridge!

I had a lovely and interesting day in Cambridge with my friend and family. Early on Wednesday we went down East to visit the King's college chapel, one of Cambridge famous academic colleges and where the famous Carol service comes from every Christmas eve. There was a lot to find out about the time when Henry 8 was on the throne. Was interesting to see the initial of Henry VIII and the second wife Anne Boleyn were fund on the wooden panel in front of the organ. it's just because she was beheaded and Henry did remove all of their initial except in this chapel. Later in the afternoon, we visited the Fitzwilliam  Museum where there was an exhibition of painting, especially for Vermeer's women: the secret and silence.'The vivid realism of these paintings provides a remarkable window into the private world of women in the 17th-century Dutch Republic.'

Every little helps

Last week I was asked to do a volunteer job in Cradley parish church. The parish had got a new electronic organ installed. I was asked to check the electric installation to make sure that every thing would work properly. At the same time fixed the new fuses and replaced bulbs light for the choirs stools ... in preparation for the service of remembrance which was this Sunday.

My little help !

A few days go I was on the bus on my way back from Bournville college. I noticed an old and quite frail gentleman was sitting near me. He got off at the same bus stop as me and then was behind me as I walked quickly to the number 9 bus which was just arriving at the bus stop in Hagley road. I got onto the bus and asked the driver to wait for the old gentleman who had been rushing for the same bus. When I looked back however, the old man had tripped over on the uneven surface.So I got off the bus to g and help him with two others people. It was clear that the man was unconscious and had a head injury so we used a scarf to stop the bleeding. Another lady made a call to the emergency service and the ambulance arrived after about 12 minutes.When the gentleman regained consciousness within 5 minutes before the emergency arrived,he asked what had happened to him. He had been shopping  and was on his way home. He told us he was 85 years old and has his birthday last month.
