Great day in Cambridge!
I had a lovely and interesting day in Cambridge with my friend and family. Early on Wednesday we went down East to visit the King's college chapel, one of Cambridge famous academic colleges and where the famous Carol service comes from every Christmas eve. There was a lot to find out about the time when Henry 8 was on the throne. Was interesting to see the initial of Henry VIII and the second wife Anne Boleyn were fund on the wooden panel in front of the organ. it's just because she was beheaded and Henry did remove all of their initial except in this chapel. Later in the afternoon, we visited the Fitzwilliam Museum where there was an exhibition of painting, especially for Vermeer's women: the secret and silence.'The vivid realism of these paintings provides a remarkable window into the private world of women in the 17th-century Dutch Republic.'
Trip to London
On Friday, I went to visit my cousin and friends in Hackney Central, later in the afternoon, I decided to go near st Paul’s cathedral where protesters are camping outside the church concerned about people’s ordinary worries about financial system and about politics.
Next day, went to Dalston Market which is in East London and where it’s easy to find & buy few fresh foods from Africa. On my way back to Birmingham, after shopping , went to the tube station as usually, I discovered that the main construction works on Victoria lane and Piccadilly lane were underway, as consequence, I missed a coach I booked because I was late as the bus hasn’t got the same speed as the tube(train). What a pain! I had no luck in finding a place on the next departure. Only after 6.30 then I manage to book another ticket to Birmingham! Lucky me!
